The First Aid, CPR and AED training program provided by Safety Compliance Services (SCS) is a module of the National Safety Council (NSC) www.nsc.org The program is OSHA 29 CFR 1910.151 compliant and is taught by an experienced instructor familiar with workplace emergency response procedures. It is a nationally recognized/certifying curriculum consistent with the latest CPR and ECC guidelines.
Student receive a workbook, course DVD and first aid “quick reference guide” and upon completion, nationally recognized certification cards. This is an adult focused course with only the choking segment including children and infants. Most importantly, they receive personal attention, immediate feedback and coaching during skills practice and lectures with the goal of self confidence in mind.
All SCS instructional staff are current or retired public safety personnel (fire or police) with substantial real world experience.
Student will learn about real world examples of first responders just like them who acted in emergencies making correct care decisions and ensuring their own safety and well being in the process.
Strictly speaking, the curriculum is as follows:
Acting in an emergency (is it safe to act-scene assessment-and what do I do now?)
SCS now has five Stop The Bleed instructors on staff to compliment their First Aid/CPR/AED instructors. We felt as though first aid training alone was not sufficient for a lot of our clients, and not just the ones in an industrial setting. Stop The Bleed does a great job not only addressing severe bleeds and how we can stop them, but how to properly apply methods to do so. When done along with first aid training it better encompasses the variety of bleeding control methods and better prepares the student for anything from a superficial wound that needs a band aid, a wound that needs a tourniquet, and everything in between.
